I changed my mind about Emacs' document viewer
My biggest pet peeve used to be Emacs' built-in document viewer. I really wanted to browse PDFs and EPUBs in Emacs but the viewer was blurry and scrolling was horribly slow.
I used Zathura for many years and Sioyek for a few months, they are both wonderful viewers but I just wasn't satisfied with either.
Well, things took a turn for the better when yours truly discovered an obscure new variable in Emacs 29.1 that could convert PDFs into SVGs, this variable is called doc-view-mupdf-use-svg

If you have mupdf-tools
installed (the package might be named differently on your distribution) and set doc-view-mupdf-use-svg
to t
, Emacs will render EPUBs, PDFs — and all the other formats that MuPDF supports — as SVGs so sharp and beautiful it will knock the socks off your pdf-tools
